![]() Now I need to figure out where they are and how to post them here…… I have lots of pictures taken by cell phone. The drive up CA 1 yesterday was spectacular! Now I see why Big Sur was mentioned in all my 70’s hippy books. Now it’s Saturday and I am using my laptop in front of a Starbucks. I’m sitting in the RV trying to hurt less.įinally got my wits together enough to drive off. The handicapped woman’s changing room had a way too polished wood floor. I fell down so fast it was a blur! CRASH. The second I put my foot in the skirt, my foot touched the skirt and floor together. I didn’t even know that Walmart sold big clothes. I saw a purple skirt at Walmart that I just HAD to try on. Too touristy for my taste…but visually interesting. Maybe I should try a wifi somewhere else? Will move and add them later…. I sent myself the pics, have them on the computer and can’t get them posted. That made even more waterfalls pop out all over the sheer cliffs in the valley. When I first got there, it was HOT! Then we had 2 days and nights of rain. The 5 days, 4 nights of staying in Yosemite Valley were spent exploring all the little nooks and crannies. Not many people go all the way up there to that part of the park. I had never been to Yosemite before and it’s REALLY GORGEOUS!!! □ □Īfter I left Hodgdon Meadows, I went to Hetch Hetchy. I came into “civilization” to find an LDS church. Right now I am just outside of the park, snitching some free wifi. Some people did, but no 3G Sprint for me. I took LOTS of pictures and will have to work at getting them from cell phone to blog. It was free □ Monday night was at Hodgdon Meadow just inside Yosemite NP, then the last 4 nights were at Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley. The first night I camped in Stanislaus NF in a place called The Pines. I left after church on Sunday and headed for Yosemite. They applied something in the night that made my eyes burn and throat swell up, but USUALLY I am in much better shape out camping than I am in a house □ Ooooops! I meant to buy some eye drops today….maybe later….Įverywhere I go I meet people who think I’m a delightfully eccentric older woman □ It’s fun wearing purple, being happy and being out and about! □ How’s that for a miracle? □ Last night I slept amid pistachio orchards. I have gone about 20 days now without supplemental oxygen and I have not used my CPAP since the 14th. ![]() That’s what keeps me tied down to one spot. Too bad I need all sorts of medical stuff. As long as I am on an adventure, I don’t have to think about mundane things like an apartment □ Once I get to Oregon, I have no clue where I am going to live. I have to admit that part of the reason I am sooooooo slow is that I’m avoiding my future. I think they should get one with a big garden area and a mother-in-law apartment….then I could tend the garden and the kids…and cook for them sometimes □ (Hint….hint….) They are now hunting for another house to buy. My poor kid thought she bought a house in Portland, OR and the bank messed up how they foreclosed on the previous owners. I love having more time for spiritual pursuits. Now I’m working on the Doctrine and Covenants. I finished reading the Book of Mormon ahead of schedule. Much of my life is spent praying, reading, sightseeing and thinking deep thoughts. I just looked up and there is an Aussie under the table on the patio at Starbucks. I will always love and miss the “good Rhett”. Saturday night I called Rhett for the first time since leaving him after going to the temple. So, I’m being a slow poke…driving here and there, but not getting too far. My hair has been driving me NUTS!!!!! It feels really good to have it cut □ I parked next to it for wifi, then saw I was parked at a SuperCuts. When I pulled over to shut it, I found a Starbucks. ![]() I stopped at a WalMart for provisions….then drove only a short way beccause I realized I had accidentally left a top hatch open. Those were my first REAL showers since Quartzsite, AZ!!!!! One day I bathed in a river and the rest of the time I wash my hair over a dish pan and do a sponge bath. I took a shower both Sunday night and Monday morning. When I looked up nearby campgrounds, there was one 7 miles away….McConnell State Recreation Area. ![]() I drove only a couple of hours and pulled into a park to rest. When I got back out to the RV I could not decide whether to stay in the mountains or go back to the ocean. Saturday I camped at the Oakhurst LDS church so I could go to meetings Sunday.
